Christy lost her life to a very short battle with a rare form of ovarian cancer. She was only 25 years old and there was no family history of the disease. Her family and friends felt as if they were living a nightmare once they heard the news! Nobody understood why this was happening and why to her. Christy touched the lives of so many and brought smiles to so many faces. She enjoyed her life even though it was cut short. She attended school at York Technical Institute where she specialized in Pastry Arts. Christy was a very hard worker. She had a passion for baking and with just one bite you could taste it! She was known for her cupcakes that tasted as great as they looked. Christy's memory and giving attitude lives on in our mission each day helping cancer fighters and their families through the hardships.
While Christy was in the hospital fighting, she received a soft and cozy blanket. Right away she wanted the blanket on her bed. It gave her that little extra comfort while stuck in the hospital. That blanket went with her from room to room and hospital to hospital. After seeing how many lives she touched and how hard she fought the cancer, we knew we needed to keep her memory alive. It is our mission to spread comfort and support to those fighting cancer. What better way to do it than with a blanket!
